I was born in Newcastle, Wyoming and grew up in Gillette, Wyoming where I was raised on a horse and cattle ranch. At the age of 5, I was introduced to the sport of wrestling and I have been actively involved in it for the past 39 years now. I competed all thru elementary school, junior high, high school, some college, and some national level; I was a head high school coach for 20 years; and now I do individual and private wrestling instruction. In 2013, my youngest son graduated high school and I decided to step away from coaching. At that time I made a decision to get involved in Mixed Martial Arts, specifically, I wanted to become a judge and further down the line a referee. So, I went to Big John McCarthy’s school out in Valencia, CA and successfully completed his judging course in June of 2014. I immediately got my license in Arizona and began judging local amateur and professional fights for Rage in the Cage, World Fighting Federation, Duel for Domination, etc. I have also had the privilege of working for Bellator, the UFC, and the World Series of Fighting when they hosted events here in Arizona over this past year.
On a more personal note, I am a single father to two wonderful sons; Louden and Chase. Louden is 22 years old and was born with special needs, he has taught me so much about what it means to live life for the simple things. Chase is 20 years old, was a two time All American in high school wrestling, and now attends Northern Arizona University.
