UMMAF Event Sanctioning

Hosting an event with UMMAF is easy and electronic; however, there are several steps to follow so you may want to PRINT THIS PAGE and use as a reference.

NOTE:  You may NOT promote your event as a UMMAF Sanctioned Event until it is properly registered with agreement received and approved by our staff.


STEP 1:  REGISTER AS MEMBER or LOG-IN

You need to be a registered Member of UMMAF in order to obtain an approval to sanction your planned event.   If not already a Member, please choose the JOIN tab from the MAIN MENU and register as a PROMOTER. There is no cost for your Membership. This will ensure you are notified when we make updates or amendments to our Rules or when we are notified of changes in State Regulations.

STEP 3: OBTAIN EVENT INSURANCE

There are two types of coverage required for an event:  1) Fighter Medical, and 2) General Liability 

Fighter Medical:  It is mandatory to have insurance to cover an injury incurred by an athlete during competition.  In the U.S.A., the athletic commission in each state will determine what the minimal coverage requirement will be.  It is your responsibility to verify what the requirements are for the state where your event will be held and ensure that you have insurance to cover the athletes in your event.

General Liability:  Also mandatory is insurance to cover any injury which could occur to spectators or any person within the facility who are not competing in the ring/cage.  Again, the requirements for this policy can very by state and venue.  It will be your responsibility to identify the requirements of such policy and secure it prior to the event.   

Every Insurance Policy must include the sanctioning body explicitly noted as UMMAF – KICK INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION as an additional named policy holder co-insured confirmed on the insurance binder.

STEP 4:  GET EVERYONE REGISTERED

All COMPETITORS are REQUIRED to be current MEMBERS of UMMAF in order to compete.  Maintaining their records and ranking are included in their membership.  JUDGES, CORNERMEN, INSPECTORS, REFEREES – (ALL OFFICIALS) also need to be a Registered Member, Trained and Certified with UMMAF.  Introductory Membership is currently $35 annually for Officials and Competitors.

It’s best if you can get everyone registered online prior to the event so that the check-in process goes faster; however, we know that this isn’t always easy to accomplish.  No worries!  For this reason we’ll have ONSITE REGISTRATION also available.  Please inform your athletes to allow for time to accomplish registrations (if needed) and to be sure they bring a Photo ID  and receipt of membership purchase for verification.  If everyone registers online in advance of the event, we can get you through the check-in process much faster.
